As we are a specialist medical practice, to be eligible for Medicare rebates, a referral from a GP or another specialist is required prior to your appointment with Dr Del. If your doctor sends the referral to us directly, we will contact you to schedule the appointment. While a referral from your current GP is preferable, reception staff are able to facilitate an appointment with a GP at Cairns Doctors for patients without a current GP.

We are more than happy to schedule an appointment with Dr Del before you have obtained the referral. If the referral is not received prior to your consultation with Dr Del, you will be ineligible for the Medicare rebate for the consultation. While face to face appointments are preferred for initial consultations, video-telehealth consultations are available for patients living a significant distance from Cairns.
